Cassie is now a month old. She weighs 9.5 lbs. Spits up like Luke did... all over the place, and in large amounts. It was really nice the first week having her NOT spit up and I thought that the laundry work load would only increase a little... how wrong I was! I do the kids laundry at least 3 times a week! She is also fussy/colicky in the evening like Luke was.
Luke has adjusted well to Cassie. Adjustment to everything else (less time with mama and daddy, being in the house a lot more etc..) has been a bit tricky. He still naps thank goodness, but sometimes it's in the morning, and other times it's in the afternoons. He eats like a bird, I guess on the picky side. Breakfasts/lunches/dinners he will (maybe) eat a few bites of what we give him and then he will throw up his hands and say done. We have tried leaving him in his chair hoping he would eat more, but have found that if we don't take him out and clean up right when he says 'done' that everything ends up on the floor. He still is drinking his milk at meals even though we now no longer are giving him any bottles, and actually ditching the bottles was easier than I thought it was going to be. Luke still goes to bed about 6pm, and even the bed time routine has suffered a bit, but we have been trying to keep that the same. I can feel molars in the back of his mouth, the 2 yr. ones I guess, and we hope that they will come in soon so he will stop eating his hands and drooling all over the place! We find he tries to eat a lot of other things too, shoes, books, Ender's food... really whatever he can put into his mouth, he will! Luke has now learned how to open doors too! When we moved into this house, we found that Ender could open doors because the handles were the lever ones, so we had to go and get the knobs and change all of the doors... well, today we had to go and get knob covers so Luke wouldn't open doors! And he is really into everything else! The other day I found a kitchen drawer in the living room, he had pulled it out of the cabinet, and pushed it all the way in the other room! I don't think it would be that bad, but he seems to do all the things he shouldn't when I can't get to him because I'm feeding or changing Cassie!

my babies...*sniff * sniff* they grow so fast...

Luke and Cassie- a side by side comparison
Luke's picture was taken his first week home.
Cassie's picture was taken today. She is 3 weeks old!
Looking at these two pictures side by side, I see a lot of resemblance. Mostly in the nose and the mouth, the ear too! I tried to get pictures while Cassie was awake, but as you can see she wasn't. And I forget that Luke had soooo much dark hair! Poor Cassie doesn't have the head of hair that Luke did, but she does have hair...more in the back than the front!

1 Day Old
And I guess I should tell the birth story before I forget. Tuesday I had my 39 week appointment, I was dilated to about a 3. My Dr. had called the hospital and made arrangements to go in the next morning (June 3rd) at 5am. We got to the hospital about 5:30 and after about 45 minutes of paperwork and forms to sign (about 6:30 by the time I was changed and everything was done), I had my IV in and pitocin was started. My Dr. came by at about 8:40 am to break my water and at that time we ordered the epidural. By the time my epidural was in and working about 9:10-9:20 I was dilated to a 5. we were able to get a little bit of a rest, but not much because I was progressing a lot faster than I had with Luke's induction. By 10:30 when the nurse checked me I was at 7, and then by about 11:30 I was at a 10 and all ready to go! We had to wait a bit for the Dr. to come, good thing her office was right next door to the hospital! The Dr. came a little after 12:00pm, and by 12:15 I was good to go! I pushed for about 10 minutes and then we had our beautiful baby girl. A bit of a side note, with Luke's induction my water was broke about 8:30 am and epidural by 9 am, but I wasn't ready to start pushing until 4pm, and he was born at 5:24pm. So we were all surprised that this time around it was so fast...and really it was easy too!
And in case anyone is wondering since I can't remember if I posted before... Cassie is short for Cassandra, and we decided to not give her a middle name...it's I guess you can say it's kind of tradition. I don't have a middle name, my mom doesn't have a middle name, my mom's sisters don't have middle names, you get the idea right?

new and improved isn't always better...
I'm talking about food. Last week I bought some Cheetos Puffs. I don't buy them very often, I think the last time I did I may have been pregnant with Luke, maybe a bag between then and now, I can't remember. I get home, open the bag ready to eat them, and notice that they are HUGE! Now, I don't usually complain about food, but this wouldn't be the first time I bought something that was a bum product...Twinkies without filling for example. No where on the bag did it advertise that they were a different size. I don't like them, I find them slightly harder to eat, and they seem to dry out my mouth faster than the smaller ones. I decided to write the company, not so much a complaint, but I wanted to know if this is the way they would be making them, or if it was a fluke, could I get the smaller ones, or what??? Well, I did here back from the company, they are now making the Cheetos Puffs in the larger size, so I'm out of luck. I realize that just because I don't like them and complain, that they aren't going to change just for me...but they are sending me coupons for free product, so I guess that's nice! I guess I just won't buy them anymore...but it won't stop me from eating them if someone else had them!
